Its going to be my first time playing baseball, and i need batting advice?

So its gonna be my first time playing baseball in my sophomore year (a few months away, in march), and i want to know if anyone has the Best advice that would make me an excellent batter. After watching Jeter break Lou Gherigs record, I've wanted to be the best batter possible.

What exercises will make me a better batter? Its going to be my first time playing baseball, and i need batting advice?
It not really excercise as much as technique and skill. Obviously i your sophmore year you wont be as good as Derek Jeter in your Sophmore year no one is but here are some tips.

Have good posture don't bend over the plate or reach your arms out.

Keep you eye on the ball and don't turn your head until you feel the ball hit the bat.

Hears a great trick I learned its called Mike and Ike. Keep your chin on one shoulder(thats the mike part) then when you turn your arms your chin should land on the othe soldier(Thats the Ike part).

You should turn your hips and lets your arms follow around that gets you good bat speed and good contact.

Bend your knees keep your elbows sraight and keep then back.

Stay loose! When your batting, move the bat around a little bit just to stay loose. You'll never hit the ball if you stiff.

Start your stride as soon as the pitcher starts his motion this will improve your chances of contact.

Don't be afraid of the ball, if you stay back on the plate odds are you will reach the bat out you wont hit it.

Remember the pitcher doesnt want to hit you!

A good workout routine will always help you hit further.

Work on your abdominal, bicep, tricep, and shoulder muscles.

Lift dumbells go on rus do crunches, etc. whatever you want. And do this 4 times a week. This will help you a lot.

Also do cardioworkouts use treadmills go for runs reguarly and work on leg muscles a lot. Theres no use in getting it to the warning track if all you can get is a single.

And a few more tips keep your knuckles straight. Point your fingers and make sure theyre both straight. And choke up a bit to.

HOPE THIS HELPS!Its going to be my first time playing baseball, and i need batting advice?
get your hands at sholder hight and get your back elbow up , have your hands in line with your back elbow. A split second after the ball is piched you step streight with your front foot, when you are swinging you want to turn your hips and pivit with your back foot, kind of like squishing a bug. finish your swing with your hands high. A good way to train is to just to hitt of of a tee, another good way is to get a 20 ounce 12 inch half bat and train with one hand, when doing this put the opposite hand on your waist. You will have to train very hard and connsistantly to get this down, dont think any things going to happen over night. you can get this down in 3 months though. Good Luck!
u have to sqwaut right on the plate and stare the catcher in the eyes with the bat up urs azz
