1. Liverpool is officially the 5th safest city in UK. Manchester is 21st on the list.

2. You'll find enough to see and do to never tire of Liverpool in a lifetime of visiting.

3. Liverpool is one of the friendliest and most cosmololitan cities in Britain.

4. I'm a visitor. For over twenty years, passing through on family visits.

5. Love it.

One word of warning if you want Liverpool friends.

DON'T buy The Sun newspaper or be seen with it.

Count the thumbs either way for those for and those against reading the Sun.

its a fantastic place youl love it and its PERFECTLY safe! :D its reputaion is old and innacurate :] x
It's no more unsafe than any other UK city. Actually statistics show that is it one of the more safer cities.

My opinion on the city is that while it has its problems, it has a lot more than what many other cities have and that is charm, character and history. Scoucers are very friendly people with the best sense of humour.

I'd recommend a trip of the tower of the Anglican Cathedral. It costs about 拢4 and up there you get stunning views across the city. You can see both Liverpool and Everton's stadium and across to the Wirral. You can even see as far as Wales on a clear day. Walk along the ironically name Hope Street and you can visit theMetropolitan (Catholic) Cathedral which has some beautiful stained glass.

Obviously the Cavern Quarter on Matthew Street would be *the* place to see for the Beatles stuff and you have all the attractions around the Albert Dock too such as The Beatles Story, Liverpool Maritime Museum and that Tate gallery.

William Brown Street is the only street in the world that has JUST museums and libraries on it. Also worth a look.

You can take a ferry accross the Mersey and visit the wirral which has some nice places too such as West Kirby. When the tide is out you can walk out to Hilbre which are a collection of uninhabited islands in the Dee estuary. Apparently they were at one point inhabited by monks.

Williamson's tunnels in Edge Hill is worth a look. This wealthy bloke called Joseph Williams built a labyrinth of seeminly pointless tunnels under the city. Many have been caved in or filled up over the years and as there is no map, no one really knows how far they run to. Apprently it's the world's largest underground folly, so I heard of a TV programme anyway. Anyway, you can take a tour around and learn about the history.
