What should I do to perform well and show how much I want to be there?Tryouts for JV baseball monday , any words of advice on how i can stand out from the other 60 kids ?
Two words. PETE ROSE.

Show that you are like Pete Rose and the coach will have no choice but to take you.Tryouts for JV baseball monday , any words of advice on how i can stand out from the other 60 kids ?
Out hustle everyone, win all the races, don't take no for an answer, be the first there and the last to leave, volunteer to go first..leave everything you got on the diamond.
Hustle. To the bench, to the drills and throughout the drills. and be disciplined, dont talk back, and push yourself through everything at the tryout. That combined with a little skill and you should be a starter, if you try the coach will notice you more than the kids who act as if it was a right for them to get on the team. But on the other side, dont suck-up too much. remember that it is still a tryout and he has to select the best players. so if you overwork yourself doing warmups and stuff, then you will have nothing else to give when things really count.
I was a former High School and College baseball coach. I can tell you at the JV level coaches are looking for 2 things. Talent and coachability. If you can show some talent about having potential to some day play for varsity you are a shoe in. Hopefully you can either run fast, throw hard, or have a little power hitting. They are looking for good technique that will someday payoff when you hit puberty.

If not your only hope is to show so much heart that they keep you becasue they think you will rub off on the other players and be good for the team.

Make sure you have a good attitude and hustle more than anyone else, even if it makes others mad at you. DOnt get caught up talking to other when batting practice is going on. Play each ball like its a game situation. Sprint everywhere you go once you are on the field and always answer each coach with ';yes coach'; or ';no coach'; each time you are asked a question or told to do something. Its shows respect that coaches love. I would sometimes take a player with less talent that was respectful and tried harder because effort is actually talent when you have not reached puberty yet and the coach will keep you hoping you will grow someday... and every team needs a ';Rudy';.

Also, if you have a great attitude the coach will not have a problem keeping you even if you are not going to play much because he knows your attitude is good. No coach wants to keep someone who will not play much and will complain about not playing. One last thing. May sure you wear a full baseball gear to practice, wear baseball pants, belt, cleats and a hat. Coaches hate when kids show up in sneakers, jeans, or shorts. Good Luck!!!
Every where that you go on the field, you sprint. You sprint from the dugout to your position every time.
To tell you the truth, screw the other kids. Its not about them out there, its you and the ball. Keep your eye on it when batting, make your plays in the field. If your worried about the other kids maybe you should represent one while he plays all season. These kids aren't going to help you, just play your game and show that independence of a leader and you're a shoe in.
you need to be at the top of your game so your coach knows that you deserve a spot on the team
work hard and listen to the coach and dont be afraid to ask for help from the coaches
