I have two little ones and I will be learning how to drive next week. I am very nervous with having them in the car with me. I was wondering if you would have any advice as to how to handle any distractions or having children in the car.Do you have any advice on learning how to drive with babies in the car?
My advice would be to learn and practice driving without having the children first. New drivers tend to be more tense and less comfortable behind the wheel. What I would do is learn and practice for about a month without taking the kids with you. It could be as simple as driving to get more gas at night, going to the grocery store when your kids are staying with a sitter, or just driving around a little so you can get more comfortable behind the wheel. Then, try to go out when you are driving and have another adult with you in the car. That can help you be more comfortable with having the kids with you. It is a process. Most people have the benefit of learning how to drive without having little kids in the car. So give yourself time to get adjusted to being a driver and then add the kids. They will be fine waiting a bit longer to be driven around by you.Do you have any advice on learning how to drive with babies in the car?
Your instinct is probably on target. If you feel nervous, get a babysitter!
You need to focus on getting comfortable with your driving ability. It won't take long, maybe three or four lessons and i bet you will feel more confident.
get 2 baby seats and put in the back seat like most mothers do and I mean this with all kindess
